Do you have question? Check for the answer

  • I’m just a weekend warrior – will I benefit from a professional fit?

Generally, if you are serious enough to clip into the pedals, you will definitely benefit from a bike fit. Whether you are a professional, competitive or a weekend rider, it is vital that your bike and its contact points are positioned in a manner that promotes comfort, power, and aerodynamics. It is undoubtedly the most economical and effective way to improve performance, minimise the risk of overuse injuries, and maximise your enjoyment!
  • If my bike componentry needs to be changed, do I need to book a second fit?

In order to provide our clients with convenience, 3D Bike Fit retains an extensive range of contact-point products in stock. Our goal is to provide you with holistic and seamless service, so we have a variety of saddles, bars, shoes, pedals and cleats, handlebars, seat posts, stems and spacers in the studio. We offer peace of mind by ensuring that a qualified bike mechanic is making the changes – there is no need to worry about potential issues with things like incorrect torque settings!
  • Can you fit any type of bike?

Almost! We have extensive experience with a variety of road and off-road bikes. Racing, time trial and track bikes, touring and hybrid, recreational flat-bar bikes, mountain bikes (no matter the style) … you name it, we can fit it! We don’t, however, fit recumbent bikes.
  • Do I get to take my results home?

Absolutely! 3D Bike Fit provides you with a comprehensive electronic report detailing every element of your fit within 24 hours. We will go through it with you on-screen at the conclusion of the session, and break it down for easy understanding.
  • How often do I need a professional fit?

Your fit will last the life of your bike – it only needs to be revised if you make changes to your componentry (such as seat, bars, pedals, shoes, etc).
  • What if it still doesn’t feel quite right?

We are incredibly proud of our reputation for precision and accuracy, but we also acknowledge that there are a number of variables outside of our control that may have an influence on your fit. These can include changes in weight, flexibility, strength or fitness. If you experience any problems with your fit, contact us within 30 days to let us know and we will happily book you in for a free appointment to revise your measurements. Our workmanship is guaranteed.
  • Can I bring two bikes?

Yes! You need to ensure you make a booking for two bikes so that we allocate enough time for both. The time for two bikes will vary – two of the same (ie two road bikes) will be faster to fit than, for example, a road bike and a mountain bike.
  • How hard will I be exercising?

All analysis occurs when you are riding at a moderate to firm intensity. We don’t want to get you worked up into too much of a lather or the markers will come off! The studio is air conditioned for your comfort, and we also have floor fans should you require them.
  • What should I bring?

We want to simulate real life, so we prefer your bike and bike shoes. Please also bring your riding gear, as the snug fit will ensure accurate readings. If you are not bringing your bike and we are fitting you on the studio’s adjustable Muve bike, please be sure to bring your pedals.
  • What should I wear?

Your riding kit! Lycra is tight fitting, which means that not only will the marker placements remain in place, but we can clearly observe your cycling motions. Sleeveless jerseys are preferable for more accurate marker placement on the shoulder, but if you don’t have one then a cycling jersey is fine.
  • How long is a Retul 3D Bike Fit session?

A standard single bike fit takes anywhere between two to three hours, with the duration depending on the level of adjustment necessary. For a dual fit (see below), allow between three and four hours.
